Gut health and optimal health go hand in hand.
Do you suffer from a lack of energy, brain fog, moodiness, anxiety or depression? Do you experience constipation or diarrhea? Do you get anxious or depressed? Are you sensitive to certain foods, perfumes, chemicals?
All those health challenges, and more, could be due to an unhealthy gut. Did you know “3/4 immune system resides in the digestive tract?”(Greenfield)
Well have no fear, there simple things we can do to improve gut health. Consuming probiotic and prebiotic-rich foods are two ways to contribute to a healthy gut.
What are probiotics? Probiotics are good live bacteria that naturally live in your body and/or may need to be added to your body. Examples of probiotic rich foods are fermented foods, such as, sauerkraut, kimchi, miso, tempeh, kefir, yogurt, kombucha, pickles, natto, apple cider vinegar, raw milk cheeses (not pasteurized) – goat milk, sheep & A2 cows soft cheese.
What are prebiotics? Prebiotics feed good / friendly bacteria so they can grow and live. Examples of prebiotic foods are vegetables & fruits.
Are you consuming probiotic and/or prebiotic foods regularly? If so, which ones do you eat? If not, which one(s) would you be willing to incorporate in to your eating routine so you can be optimally healthy and happy?
Are you ready to eat your way to a healthy gut?
